AN ODE TO MY LOVELY SNOWDROP

                                       - BY Ritu ( The blissful Free poetic soul )
In Indian Summer when Monsoon is almost here, its completely out of sense to think about the lovely snowdrop flowers ( European pre spring flowers ). This morning suddenly these pretty flowers gave me a call and my heart mesmerized with their innocent beauty wrote this Ode ( poem).... It’s true that poets are free souls, time and space cant bind them ).. sharing the words of my heart with you all ....

In February, cold wind
steals the warmth of sunshine
Sight of naked trees
Make the eyes sore
Veil of white snow deepens the sorrow
And cover the mighty dark green oak &  pine
Amidst the thickest snow
when the hope is so thin
you my tiny fairy
Rise above the ground to win

Emerald green and silky white
Beautiful hope in winter plight

Soft and humble
Unnoticed u go
Fragile, with delicate neck
in shyness u bow
Slowly when meadow
Fills with green grass
Blossoms on trees
and daffodils on pass
And you disappear to
Unknown land
giving way to the floral band
my heart aches for you
I don't know if you miss me too
You are the first sign of life
You tell that nature is still alive
You tell me to have courage
and keep my hope high
You tell me to keep smiling
and its not the time to sigh
You tell me that
spring is on the way
there would be celebration of nature
in April and May

It’s just the waiting gap
not the time of sadness
while I know I ll get all the
Spring on my lap
But my snowdrop you will always be my
first sign of happiness
